The Wan Choi journey began with the love of Authentic Chinese cuisine, walking past our local Chinese takeaways in Reading and stopping at the window, peeping through to see all the lovely dishes, fragrances being served but not being able to try them was very disappointing. Most of the takeaways those days, did not serve halal meat. So we had travel miles and miles to get our fix.

It was this disappointment that pushed us to start our own journey in running Reading’s first Authentic Halal Chinese takeaway.

My brother and myself started doing some extra hours away from our permanent jobs, as delivery drivers at a local Chinese, slowly our interest and cravings grew, we were always asking questions and were fascinated how a simple looking dish had so many components that put it all together.

The opportunity finally came when the landlady who owned the business, needed to sell but buyers were far and few in-between, it’s when my younger brother turned to me and said, shall we give this a go and I said why not, from that point our journey began.

Since then Wan Choi has served the Highest quality Chinese and Thai cuisine, We only source the highest quality meats and fresh veg daily to cook our delicious meals, We offer a wide range of meals, which are cooked with our house made authentic bases and sauces, our extensive menu gives you over 100 mouthwatering options to choose from.
